IDR and International Litigation, Choice of Law
The module IDR and International Litigation, Choice of Law allows insight into the legal doctrine and practice of (international) conflict management. The module is also divided into two units.
The first unit is devoted to focus on comparative law and conflict of laws in international legal transactions. The unit focuses on the interplay between choice of law, contract regulations and mandatory law.
The second unit deals with international (civil) litigation. It includes topics such as jurisdiction, writs of summons, taking of evidence and the recognition and enforcement of foreign judgments. The relevant international conventions and also covered in this unit.
The module is completed with a written examination.
