Introduction to Academic Writing

The module Introduction to Academic Writing provides an introduction how to write scholarly papers in preparation. Students are taught how to structure their work in order to maximize their argumentative effect. This give the tools necessary for success in the written exams and the master thesis, but also has application in the world of well reasoned legal briefs. Students will be introduced to and instructed in the academic approach in a forum with a strong focus on socratic methods and student participation. Additional skills, like correct writing style, citation formats as well as research orientation are covered in this course.
